How to Cope With Sadness and Anxiety //

Coping With Sadness

Over the years, I've had plenty of practice with coping with sadness and anxiety. As a extroverted creature and moving back to my hometown, it wasn't easy transitioning from the city to Chesaning. But as I've been told countless times, it's always going to be a battle to keep emotions in tact. and it truly has. So here are my seven tips and tricks that I've accumulated over the years.

1. One of the first things to do if you have constant emotion influx get yourself a journal and write down what triggered these emotions. It'll help you get them out of your mind. Keeping a journal has always helped me when I didn't have anyone to talk to.
2. Don't over think these emotions and or situations. Sit down, count to ten, and take some deep breathes. The panic or anxiety attack  will pass. Don't let it get to you.
3. Do something to get your endorphin's pumping. Exercise is a good way to do this! When I started running, a lot of my anxiety and unwanted emotions went away.

4. If your ever thinking about suicide (which you should never do) seek out help immediately. You are well worth it and you have so much to live for. Regardless what you may be going through, remember "It's always darkest before the dawn"-Florence and the Machine
5. Do things that make you happy. Find a hobby, go outside, write, draw. Pinterest is a good way to get inspiration and also brings about new ideas and creativity.
6. One of the main ones: GET OUT OF THE HOUSE. If you're depressed. you need to get yourself up and go do something. Treat yourself to that new issue of the magazine that you love, go out to dinner with your friends, go for a hike.
7. If a friend is causing to be in pain, it may hurt, but cutting them out of your life will do wonders. If you have abusive friends, your just subjecting yourself to the pain. Get out and find people who will love you for you.

Remember guys, if your going through a hard time, you are loved, your are worth it and you have so much to live for.
Much love as always
